On March 18th, Samsung SDS held ‘Samsung SDS Industry Day’ for administrative and public agencies at the International Conference Hall of the Sejong Convention Center. Here, the company shared AI transformation (AX) cases and strategies for the public sector.
‘Industry Day’ is an event where Samsung SDS introduces its solutions and services and shares real-world use cases across various sectors, such as public, manufacturing, retail, finance, and defense. This seminar, the first Industry Day event of the year, was themed around AX in the public sector.
The event was organized to share with central and local governments AX cases in the public sector and the direction for AX implementation. This aligns with the government’s policy to expand AI-powered intelligent administrative environments.
Last year, Samsung SDS secured government-wide shared AI infrastructure and intelligent work management projects. Currently, the company is providing related services to central government ministries and local governments, supporting the expansion of AX across the public sector.
Approximately 250 IT officials from central government ministries, administrative agencies, public corporations, and public institutions attended the event. Representatives from the National Information Society Agency (NIA) and the Gyeonggido Office of Education, which are currently using Samsung SDS’s solutions, presented their real-world application cases.
During individual sessions, NIA (which conducted government-wide shared AI infrastructure projects, jointly pursued by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety) presented the government’s AX roadmap for the public sector, along with measures to utilize the government-wide shared AI infrastructure. The Gyeonggido Office of Education shared innovation cases highlighting organizational change, the adoption and stabilization process, and operations, following their adoption of the generative AI-powered collaboration solution Brity Works & Copilot.
Additionally, the seminar showcased the AI-powered public service request system that officially launched last month. Available as an integrated AI service on the Government24 portal, it leverages the government-wide shared AI infrastructure to process and respond to public service requests.
Moreover, Samsung SDS elaborated on public cloud migration strategies, key considerations, and the expected effects of implementing cloud ERP based on the SAP premium supplier partnership. The company also presented strategies to prepare for the adoption of generative AI in public cloud environments, along with plans for utilizing AI data centers and the implementation of disaster recovery (DR) center systems.
Jeong-heon Lee, Executive Vice President and Leader of the Strategic Marketing Office at Samsung SDS, said, “This seminar served as an opportunity to share the direction for pursuing AX in the public sector and to learn real-world innovation cases. We will continue to provide AX insights to our clients through industry-specific seminars tailored for various sectors, including manufacturing, retail, finance, and defense.
