Features

Technologies of Samsung SDS data centers

  • World-class data centers

Samsung SDS has implemented and operate 5 domestic data center at tier 3/4 levels based on continuous innovation over the past three decades. Next generation core technologies and SDDC technology are also expected to expand to all data centers.

Suwon Data Center: Asia's first tier 3 data center certification by Uptown (2010)
Sangam Data Center: Data Center Dynamic Award (2016)
Chuncheon Data Center: Chuncheon Data Center: Automatic infrastructure control using latest modular type (2019)

  • Equal network service level globally

Samsung SDS boasts operation technology and nearly failure-free line design among data centers. The SLA is equally ensured at 99.999% for all global regions.
(The SLA of global businesses varies by region—Verizon at 99.9-99.999% and AT&T at 99.9-99.95%.)

  • Core capabilities for PUE technology

The PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) has continued to decrease, from 1.58 at Suwon to 1.34 at Sangam and further down to 1.26 at Chuncheon center. Samsung SDS’ constant innovation in energy efficiency has enhanced energy reduction technology to the global level. (e.g. PUE of 268 DCs in Europe: 1.7, Google’s DC (B2C) in Finland: 1.09, Singapore: 1.17)

*PUE is a metric used to determine energy efficiency of data centers, by measuring additional energy usage (e.g. cooling, facility, etc.) excluding IT equipment, with overall efficiency improving as the quotient decreases toward 1.
