High-Performance Storage for Processing Big Data and DB Workload

Block Storage is high-performance storage that stores data in fixed-size blocks of pre-determined arrays. It is suitable for big data and high-performance requirements, and users can directly attach storage volumes to servers.

Overview

  • High-Capacity Volume

    A volume for configuring Block Storage OS is created in sizes higher than a minimum capacity required per image, which can be expanded up to 1TB. On the other hand, a data storage volume can be created or increased between at least 8GB and up to 12TB in size. The process of increasing the volume size is performed online with stability ensured. The Block Storage(BM) volume can be created between the range from 1 GB to 16 TB in size.

  • High Performance with Full SSD

    Block Storage provides high durability and availability based on the redundant controller and disk array(RAID). A full SSD disk which is provided by default enables high-performance data processing such as for database workloads.

  • Snapshot Backup

    Snapshots enable users to modify or restore backed up data. Users can restore data by selecting a snapshot created at the time of recovery from the list.

  • Replication

    A Block Storage(BM) volume creates a replicated volume in a different location, and users can set the replication cycle. It allows a service to be continuously delivered without interruption even when an original volume is inaccessible due to a failure or a natural disaster.

    1. Restoring modified or deleted data with snapshot images
    2. Restoring by selecting a snapshot created at the desired point in time
    3. Block Storage : Can create a new volume by using a snapshot
  • Storage monitoring

    - Monitor storage performance (read/write IO), estimate usage and view bills
    - Set notifications for storage shortages (e.g. a 'Warning' status notification when 80% of assigned storage is in use and 'Critical' when 90% is in use)
