Easily Creates and Manages MySQL in Web Environment

MySQL is an open source relational DBMS and despite it being smaller and lighter than other databases, it is extremely fast and flexible when using a query. Samsung Cloud Platform provides an environment that automatically creates and configures MySQL database, and to ensure the proper management of a single instance or critical data, features such as high availability capability, read/replication, backup/restoration, patch, parameter management, auditing, and monitoring were added.

Service Architecture

Service Architecture – RDB Provisioning with High-Availability MySQL on VPC
Zone Component Description
Request User The user initiates the process by submitting a Request for Creation.
RDB Provisioning Step 1: Create Virtual Server A virtual server is created as the first step of the RDB provisioning process.
Step 2: Assign Storage & N/W Storage and network resources are assigned to the virtual server.
Step 3: Install MySQL MySQL is installed on the provisioned virtual server to complete the RDB setup.
VPC System Configuration After provisioning, system configuration is applied and the architecture is deployed within a VPC.
Web/WAS A Web/WAS component connects to both virtual servers and manages Active-Standby Failover between them.
Virtual Server 1 The active server running MySQL on Linux, connected to its own Storage. Serves as the primary node.
Virtual Server 2 The standby server running MySQL on Linux, connected to its own Storage. Takes over during failover.
Sync Replication Storage Sync Replication A bidirectional Sync Replication connection (indicated by a red arrow) keeps the Storage of Virtual Server 1 and Virtual Server 2 continuously synchronized.

    2. HA architecture : Active-standby configuration based on SW-level synchronous replication
  • Simple and convenient DB management
    1. Backup : Provide full backup which uses DB backup feature
    2. Recovery : Able to recover to a specific point in time or to a backup stored point of based on backup files(data & archive) stored in storage
    3. Patch : Provides upgrades to minor or major versions
    4. User parameter setting : Set parameters regarding better DB performance and security
    5. Read Replica : Configure up to five read-only servers in the same or different regions for load distribution for read performance or for disaster recovery(DR)
      ※ A configuration that allows inter-region linking via network must be configured in advance for Replica DR
    6. Data migration : Automatically migrated between DBs of the same type(Engine version is the same)
