Generative AI in Real-World Applications
On a sunny spring day, the World IT Show 2025 was held at COEX in Seoul (April 24). The conference, themed "The AX Era: The Full Integration of AI into Daily Life," featured a keynote speech by VP LEE Tae-hee from Samsung SDS Research, titled "The Dawn of the Agentic AI Era: Preparing for Sustainable Growth," marking the opening of the conference.


At the start of the keynote speech, VP LEE shared the results generated by AI when he instructed, "Create a 'four-cut photo' with fun poses," offering a relatable glimpse into the practical applications of generative AI in daily life. The audience was immediately captivated and began to engage attentively with the presentation.
What is Agentic AI?
Under the theme "From Generative AI to Agentic AI," he presented what Agentic AI is and how strategies of leading AI companies are evolving. He explained AI agents through examples such as decision-making/prediction agents and counseling summary/response recommendation agents. Additionally, he introduced foundational concepts of Agentic AI, including instances of collaboration among multiple agents (Multi-Agent) to achieve optimal solutions and the diverse types of actions performed by agents.
Changes to be brought by Agentic AI
Under the theme "How to Continue Growth in the Evolving AI Technology Ecosystem?" he presented recommendations from four key perspectives: data, connectivity, security, and people. He began by emphasizing the need for data standardization and expansion of data types tailored for agents. Next, he stressed the importance of integrating multiple solutions to enhance the scope and impact of AI applications. Turning to security, he highlighted that Agentic AI, which requires access to various systems and data, necessitates a robust security framework encompassing risk prevention, response, and detection. Concluding his remarks, he underscored that fostering human expertise is essential for ensuring the sustained growth of AI technologies.


VP LEE concluded his presentation by highlighting that the ongoing evolution of enterprise IT is inevitable. He stressed the importance of building an environment where various agents can function optimally and advocated for proactively utilizing these innovations to strengthen competitive advantage.

The presentation drew such a large audience that there were not enough chairs, leaving some attendees standing along the sides and back of the auditorium.
