Samsung SDS' Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP) recently received the Greenhouse Gas Inventory System (GIS) certification from the Korea Management Registrar (KMR).
The GIS certification evaluates the overall suitability of the emission management system, including the recording, management, and reporting of all greenhouse gases emitted from business activities at the Korea Management Registrar (KMR), and has been certified for the suitability of the Scope 3 emission calculation method and emission factor for greenhouse gas emissions indirectly emitted when using Samsung Cloud services.
KMR is a greenhouse gas energy target verifier certified by the Ministry of Environment (National Institute of Environmental Sciences) and a trusted "carbon emission verification agency" designated by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS). With this, Samsung SDS became the first cloud service provider in Korea to provide information on greenhouse gas emissions in 2023, and then obtained accreditation of related systems this year.
By obtaining GIS certification, our company is expected to actively support customers in ESG management and greatly contribute to the expansion of SCP business.
