Eschborn, Germany – Samsung SDS Europe is proud to announce its new role as an Associate Member and Partner of the Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik e.V. | BME). As a leading trade association for purchasing, supply chain, and logistics managers across Germany and Europe, this partnership underscores Samsung SDS Europe's deepened commitment to the region's market and its active participation in shaping the future of supply chain management.
Founded in 1954, the BME is a formidable community with over 10,000 members across 38 regions in Germany. Its members procure goods and services amounting to approximately 1.25 trillion euros annually, representing nearly one-third of Germany's GDP. The association is pivotal in facilitating expertise transfer, professional development, promoting new knowledge, and fostering connections between academia and industry in the procurement, supply chain, and logistics sectors. As an agenda-setter, the BME helps its members unlock new procurement markets and actively influences economic and political developments at both national and European levels.
This partnership highlights Samsung SDS Europe's dedication to collaborative innovation in direct procurement. Samsung SDS’s Caidentia is a global SaaS solution specifically designed to digitize direct procurement, sourcing, and settlement. Leveraging patented AI functionalities, Caidentia enables companies to orchestrate the entire direct procurement lifecycle—from initial product design through sourcing to final payment. Samsung SDS Caidentia acts as a collaboration platform letting R&D, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Procurement work hand-in-hand as one team from early in the product lifecycle. Companies running the solution experience competitive advantage by significant profit margin growth, supplier enabled innovation, faster time-to-market and strengthened supply chain resiliency.
"We are delighted to welcome Samsung SDS Europe as an Associate Member and Partner," says Mirjam Zeller, Managing Director of BME Marketing GmbH. "Their extensive expertise in advanced ICT, particularly in the manufacturing industry and AI-driven solutions for supply chain and procurement, will be invaluable to our community. This collaboration will significantly strengthen our member efforts to drive innovation and address the complex challenges facing in today's global trade environment."
As an Associate Member, Samsung SDS Europe will actively contribute to shaping industry-relevant laws, regulations, and standards, solidifying its role as an expert and innovation leader. This is especially critical in areas such as cybersecurity, data protection, and AI regulation. The company also aims to leverage the BME platform to foster experience exchange with other members, partners, and industry experts, collaboratively overcoming shared challenges and strengthening technical solutions to build greater trust within the IT, supply chain management, procurement, and logistics industries.
"Becoming an Associate Member and Partner of the BME is a valuable opportunity for Samsung SDS Europe," adds Ben Grudda, Head of SRM Solutions at Samsung SDS Europe. "It allows us to actively engage with Europe’s leading procurement and supply chain professionals, share our insights on orchestrating direct procurement with Caidentia, and contribute to shaping future industry standards. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration that enhances trust, fosters innovation, and delivers tangible benefits to the entire BME network."
