Samsung SDS to Collaborate with NCCoE in the Migration to Post-Quantum Cryptography Project

+ To support the conversion of cloud business system to post-quantum cryptography
Samsung SDS announced that it will take part in the Migration to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) project hosted by the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE), part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), as the only Korean company along with 13 other global vendors including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cisco Systems and Microsoft.
PQC is regarded as a technology to replace the existing public-key encryption system that are threatened as quantum computing technology evolves.
This project aims to detect devices and applications equipped with existing cryptographic system that are vulnerable to quantum-based attacks, and to help migrate such system to PQC.
Samsung SDS will take part in the project by applying its cryptographic technology to the firewall products of its security subsidiary SECUI to detect vulnerabilities in the existing cryptographic methods and support the conversion process to PQC through research.
Moreover, as many companies are migrating the legacy systems to cloud, Samsung SDS plans to support the conversion of the existing cryptography system to PQC in customers’ cloud infrastructure and applications.
Samsung SDS also deepened its capabilities in PQC and homomorphic cryptograpghy with its experts in the security domain through its Security Research Center. The homomorphic cryptography, a technology that analyzes and processes data in an encrypted form to safely secure sensitive information such as personal information, is attracting attention along with PQC as a safe security technology.
