On June 9, Samsung SDS announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Woojung Air Consolidation to expand its global air logistics business and seek mutual growth together with small and medium-sized Korean logistics companies.

Base on this agreement, Samsung SDS will strengthen its global air logistics business by incorporating Woojung Air Consolidation’s specialized air logistics services, such as real-time freight location tracking and freight charge information, on its digital logistics platform “Cello Square.”

Woojung Air Consolidation is a company specializing in air freight consolidation, which offers logistics service by renting freight space within aircrafts through contracts with air carriers. It currently runs a digital air logistics platform called “i Nomad.”

The users of Samsung SDS Cello Square will be able to check the entire process of air freight transportation through the data provided by Woojung Air Consolidation, including cargo arrival, airport clearance procedure, aircraft loading, arrival at destination airport, unloading and storage at destination warehouse.

In addition, Samsung SDS and Woojung Air will jointly develop international air logistics services that can help boost the sales of Korean e-commerce sellers in global markets including the U.S., Japan, Australia, and Brazil, to actively support overseas business expansion of Woojung Air Consolidation.

Kooil Oh, Executive Vice President and Leader of Logistics Business Division at Samsung SDS, said, “To swiftly respond to the rapidly changing air logistics market, Samsung SDS will continue to strengthen collaborative efforts with small and medium-sized domestic logistics companies and create mutually beneficial outcomes for all.”
