Samsung SDS Introduces AI and Cloud Technologies at its Techtonic 2019 Developer Conference

Samsung SDS hosted Techtonic 2019 developer conference on November 14 at its headquarters in Jamsil, Seoul.

Started in 2017, Techtonic, a developer conference, shares Samsung SDS’s latest technologies and development know-how to support the expansion of developer ecosystem.

Samsung SDS presented IT technology trends and practical applications at the conference with more than 1,200 attendants, including the SW developers, researchers, and students.

Dr. Shim Yoon, Executive Vice President, Cloud Business Division leader of Samsung SDS delivered a keynote speech to introduce ‘Samsung SDS Innovation Framework’, consisted of business idea contest, industry-academia linked programs based on open source contribution, securing IT expertise and strategic investments.

She also announced technology platform formed with the company’s 5 major innovative technologies of AI, blockchain, cloud, data analysis, and security, and presented innovative cases.

Youngjune Gwon, Vice President, AI Research Team leader of Samsung SDS then presented ‘AI Development Acceleration Technology’ which an in-house developed technology.

Data scientists spend most of the time on labeling the data for classification in order to apply AI analysis model. The AI Development Acceleration Technology automates this labeling process and reduces 80% load of the entire data analysis process.

Moreover, this technology enhances AI development productivity by automatically recommending deep learning model for each data attributes as deep learning model selection process consumes high amount of graphic processing unit and memory resources.

In the technology session, Samsung Electronics official introduced the case of applying site reliability engineering (SRE) model to quickly and reliably deploy and operate smartphone messaging chatbot service to the global market.

In addition, deep dive session on security took place for the attendants to freely ask questions about the cases of information leakage and defense technologies. The tutorial session on Brightics Studio, Samsung SDS’s open source data analysis tool, was also prepared for the attendants to experience analysis modeling.
