Discount Service Based on Hourly Spend Amount Commitment

Cost Savings is a discount service that commits the amount of usage per hour for instance usage. It offers discounts of up to 55% on the condition of a one-year or three-year commitment, and offers flexibility in applying discounts when resources with multiple specifications are used.

Overview

  • Offering Savings

    Commitments that use specific types of instances in the Compute, Database, and Data Analytics service categories offer Cost Savings discounts. Discounts are applied from instances with high discount rates, and discounts are applied from instances with low unit prices if the discount rate is the same. Discounts are not offered if the commitment amount is exceeded.

  • Flexible Discounts Apply

    Even if the user increases or decreases the resource specifications or changes the OS, Cost Savings will be automatically applied to the changed resources, and the Cost Savings fee for each target service will not change based on the hourly contract amount. When increasing non-contracted resources, it can be applied for additional Cost Savings to apply for a discount.

  • Easy Management & Monitoring

    Cost Savings usage can be viewed in Utilization Report. In addition, Coverage Report allows convenient management, such as checking the difference in discount costs compared to the amount used without a commitment.

    1. Application for contract period and hourly spend amount
    2. Can choose server resources with various specifications without additional cost according to workload fluctuations
  • Recommend Cost Savings
    1. Analyze usage information of target resources by period to recommend a recommended Cost Savings commitment amount
    2. Users can apply the recommended rate or select an appropriate contract rate on their own
  • Provide reports
    1. Coverage report : Check discount costs compared to non-contract plans
    2. Utilization report : Check Cost Savings usage status
  • Early termination and penalties
    1. Unable to change the amount during the commitment period
    2. If the commitment amount needs to be increased, an additional commitment must be made
    3. If terminated during the commitment period, 50% of the remaining commitment amount will be charged after two months
