Samsung SDS announces key technologies of digital transformation at ‘REAL 2019’

Samsung SDS (President & CEO Dr. WP Hong) hosted ‘REAL 2019’ event at Seoul Shilla Hotel for the corporate customers promoting digital innovation.

With more than 1,500 customers and industry representatives attending, Samsung SDS shared innovative technologies and success stories for digital transformation under the main theme, ‘Realize your vision through Digital Transformation’.

As a keynote speaker, Dr. WP Hong, President and CEO, presented Samsung SDS’s ‘Digital Transformation Framework’ as a solution for successful digital transformation of the customers.

The ‘Digital Transformation Framework’ systematically integrates Samsung SDS’s industry know-how and technological capabilities to support digital innovation of all business sectors including manufacturing, marketing/sales and management systems.

In the keynote speech, Siho Jang, head of global quality innovation office and executive vice president of Samsung Electronics introduced the case of digital conversion in manufacturing field, alongside with the announcement of innovative cases of blockchain-based maritime logistics project of global partner and operational process innovation through next generation ERP.

Followed was the introduction of the technology development status of AI, cloud, and security by Shim Yoon, leader of research and development center and executive vice president of Samsung SDS. Moreover, Eunsoo Shim, head of AI&SW Research Center and senior vice president of Samsung Electronics announced AI technology trends and related innovation cases, and Professor Junghee Cheon of mathematical science department of Seoul National University presented collaboration case with Samsung SDS and development direction of homogeneous code.

Total of 25 themes were presented on Samsung SDS’s core competencies including:
△Intelligent Enterprise (next generation EPR/ SCM/ IPA etc.) △Intelligent Factory (manufacturing/ logistics/ plant intelligence) △Cloud & Security △Innovative technology and platform (AI/ Blockchain/ IoT).

In addition to these presentations, various exhibitions on Intelligent Factory, Brightics (AI/Analytics, IoT), Blockchain and Cloud were prepared for the attendees to easily understand various technology application cases.

In particular, the attendees showed great interest in manufacturing/ logistics / plant intelligence solutions that forms Intelligent Factory, and received on-site consulting from the experts of Samsung SDS.
