Samsung SDS ranked 22nd in global IT Services market 2018

Samsung SDS ranked 22nd in global IT Services market rising from 25th in last year as per Gartner’s latest report revealed earlier last month named Market Share: IT Services, 2018.

According to this Market Share conducted by global IT advisory firm Gartner, LG CNS is followed by was 63rd and SK C&C was 109th. In particular, within the top 30, Samsung SDS was the only Korean company.

IBM was 1st in global IT services, followed by Accenture, Deloitte and Amazon were among global top 10.IBM was first with a slight year-on-year growth rate, and Accenture narrowed its gap with IBM.

The top ranking companies in global IT service companies are consulting companies such as Deloitte (3rd), PwC (5th), EY(9th).

Samsung SDS achieved an all-time high sales of $ 9.3B (KRW 10.3 trillion) for the first time in the Korean IT industry in year 2018. Samsung SDS has set its management policy this year as 'Innovative growth through external business'.

Moreover, Samsung SDS is also strengthening its 4 major strategic IT businesses (Intelligent Factory, Cloud, AI & Analytics, and Solution) in earnest.

Recently, Samsung SDS's 4 major strategic IT businesses recorded a 31% year-on-year growth, significantly contributing to the revenue of KRW 10 trillion.

The Intelligent Factory business expanded its non-Samsung external business into several areas including cosmetics, food & beverage, as well as electronics and parts, recording a 46% increase in revenue over the prior year.

The Cloud business experienced a 31% revenue growth from the previous year thanks to clients’ shift to private Cloud platforms and an increase in revenue from the public Cloud business.

In the AI & Analytics business, Samsung SDS deployed its own AI-based Big Data analytics platform, Brightics AI, within the manufacturing, logistics, financial and marketing industries, realizing a 45% increase in revenue from the previous year.

In the Blockchain business, Samsung SDS was named one of the top 50 global blockchain companies on the Forbes list. This appears to have been recognized for the global performance of the Nexledger blockchain platform. The company has signed MOUs with global companies and has implemented projects in the manufacturing, logistics and financial industries, building a strong foundation for future business expansion. Meanwhile, Samsung SDS launched Nexledger Universal, the next version of its enterprise blockchain platform. Nexledger Universal provides standard application programming interface (API) that is commonly applicable to Samsung SDS NCA (Nexledger Consensus Algorithm) and public and permissioned blockchain technology such as Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum.
